House LLC is a real estate development venture established in January 2008 to restore several historic buildings in downtown Amherst, Massachusetts. Our goal is to create a cluster of historically significant homes on the property of the Henry Hills mansion, the former home of the Boys & Girls Club of Amherst.
In January 2008, we acquired this estate from a local developer. At the time, the three-acre property included the Henry Hills House, the newly relocated Chapin-Ward House, and four building lots on Main and Gray streets. In April, through the generosity of Amherst College, we expanded the scope of our project by tapping Payne Construction Services Inc., of Strafford, NH, to move two more 19th century buildings from the College's property to our lots, as outlined below. The Tuttle Farmhouse was relocated from "Fort Hill," off South East Street, to 14 Gray, and the Potwine House, from Spring Street, moved to 32 Gray.

The Chapin-Ward House sold February 2009. The Potwine House sold March 2009. We are currently working on improvements to the Tuttle Farmhouse as a two-unit condominium. As with the other homes in this project, the Tuttle Condominiums will be built to the highest efficiency standards generally available and will include a number of "green" building techniques aimed at constructing homes that are affordable to heat and maintain. Anticipated project completion is Summer 2010.
All restoration work is performed by F.R. Wilson, a respected local builder with over 30 years of construction experience in the Amherst area.
